Sugar consumption fuels our climate crisis and our health crisis.

i Can play a vital role in reducing water consumption

213 gallons of water is required to produce 1 single pound of refined cane sugar.

That's the equivalent of filling up 5 bathtubs with water!

Sugar & Water Usage

The sugar in 1 Starbucks Iced Coffee requires 10 gallons of water to be produced.

The sugar in 1 Can of Coke requires 12 gallons of water to be produced.

The sugar in 1 Taro Bubble Tea requires 20 gallons of water to be produced.

How Can i Take Action ?

i Can eliminate the sugar in my bubble tea once a week and save 15 bottles of water.

Starbucks Iced Coffee

1 Starbucks Iced Coffee (without any flavourings or additional syrups) = 4.5 teaspoons of sugar

If you were to consume 1 Iced Coffee per day, for a whole year, you would be consuming approximately 1,642 teaspoons of sugar OR 15 pounds of sugar.

That's the equivalent of filling up 76 bathtubs with water!

Iced Coffee

Matcha Green Tea Latte

1 Starbucks Matcha Latte has 6 teaspoons of added sugar.

Looking to still get in your Matcha fix but don't want the unnecessary added sugars ?

Ask to get yours unsweetened OR just opt for a plain green tea.

Pastries, ice cream, & sugar-sweetened drinks account for large percentages of the GHG emissions related to food.

Just 1kg of Chocolate emits 19kg of greenhouse gas emissions.

* The greenhouse gas emissions produced by nuts, fruits, and root vegetables is close to 0.

Much of the sugar we consume, is HIDDEN in foods we don't necessarily think of as SWEET

Oatmeal with Berries

Quaker Oats : Brown Sugar & Maple Oatmeal =  teaspoons of sugar per bowl

Liberté : Vanilla Greek Yogurt = 5 teaspoons in half a cup
